Do you think this Big Papa has took over the PC gaming market share?
I have been on Steam for years now. Ever since the early days of CSS. And recently like around X-mas of '09. They decided to put game sales. Valve is filled with smart ass people. Eventually Steam just boomed and sales just sky rocketed due to discounts. Looking back at my purchases, a majority of them were discounted games. For example .
1.Bad Company 2, I got that game for $6.79
2.GTA 4: $7.49
3.TF2: $2.49
Tell me those aren't great deals on some good ass games. Services like Steam, Onlive, and Direct2Drive are taking over the market share for PC games by using the idea of having deals. I think the sales at places like Target and Walmart aren't that great
Those are good deals. But sometimes it is nice to have a hard copy of the game just for fun.
ReplyDeleteSteam is the best for deals, but they're not the best I've seen those games at!
ReplyDeleteit was a very smart move to get more longevity out of a lot of games that wouldn't of been bought for full price / one month after fan boys all bought their copies
ReplyDeleteyeah, target and walmart is losing their grip on the gaming industry. I think I'll post a blog about it. keep an eye out for it!
ReplyDeleteDamn thats a good TF2 deal, even the GTA4..
ReplyDeleteAnd sorry I should input, more and more retailers in the UK are making deals with companies so there games don't get sold on platforms like steam. Which is just utter bullsh*t.
ReplyDeleteIts only a matter of time till PC games are all going to be download only
ReplyDelete@Scorcher I agree also, look at the speed rate of internet today. It just keeps increasing over time
ReplyDeleteWhat you said is so true man!
ReplyDeleteshit that is such a good deal! id take that anyday
ReplyDeletecomment=good
ReplyDeletesteam is still a relievely small share of the market i think
ReplyDeleteYea... to tell you the truth, I really wish I could use dollars for such thing you know? =/ I can't pay them with reais...
ReplyDelete@Leminur What do you mean? You sorta dont make sense
ReplyDeleteGunna sound dumb: In video games where you can sell ina market (WoW, the recent Runescape updates that brought back the free market again) I've always a lot of in game product for just a little less and buiness was a boomin.
ReplyDeleteSo yeah, steam is verryy smart
I got BC2 for $15 instead of $20 :( I thought I got a deal..
ReplyDeleteid say those deals arent bad!
ReplyDelete@Jesse. Heck no they aren't, really cheap!
ReplyDeleteSteams definitely doing something right.
ReplyDeleteI like steam, but feel like the benefits are better for PC users, as most games arent available on the Mac
ReplyDeleteSteam is super legit. Awesome games for dirt cheap, I don't really care if they have a monopoly, I GOT GAMES!
ReplyDeleteNot gonna lie, those are some good deals.
ReplyDelete@Nick. I do agree but they are starting to put Mac games on steam
ReplyDeletelool, wish i could get them for that price..xbox here..:P but i think the prices will rise with time.
ReplyDeleteSteam is great, been using it for years as well.
ReplyDeleteNice discounts, GTA 4 is awesome
ReplyDeleteMy steam got hacked :(
ReplyDeleteGreat deal. Too bad I already have TF2.
ReplyDeleteWow, That is cheap. I bought TF2 for $9.99. Very nice.
ReplyDelete@Freddy. I know, this was the time when the big TF2 update came out and they had the deal only running for 2 hours
ReplyDeleteI support Steam and Valve because they're a local company. So whatever they do, I'm cool with. Local Economy support is key!
ReplyDelete@Joe I agree with you all the way!!! Valve makes great quality games
ReplyDeleteValve, Steam.. It's so easy and accessible. I prefer having my games saved to an account rather than in CDs...
ReplyDeleteGood deals, although not for everybody, europeans still get $1=1€
ReplyDeleteWell, PC gaming is lagging a bit behind consoles. At least in my opinion. I was a pretty huge PC gamer for a while back in the day (still played the consoles too, but FPS on PC was where it was at). But with Xbox and PS2 PC gaming kinda faltered. Think about it. A lot of games are ported to the PC whereas in the past it was the other way around. I remember walking into an EB and the whole side of the store was nothing but the big-ass PC game boxes. Now, of course you wouldn't see that in any store. Its not just because its is going digital but more like sales weren't the same, going digital made sense.
ReplyDeleteAnd, oddly enough, I don't mind having my PC games digital. I don't have the discs for hardly any of the games I once owned. If it was a digital platform it would have been super nice. But when it comes to my console, I like the game and case sitting on the shelf. Although my attitude towards that is changing. And if I could afford to keep upgrading my PC I would go back to primarily PC gaming. I don't have loyalty to any one platform.
