"EA Is Confident That Battlefield Will Surpass The Call Of Duty Series"

I saw this on Hot Blooded Gamer and I had to write about this. MCV had an interview with Jens Uwe Intat from Electronic Arts. He said

“Certainly. The only question is when that day will be. And for me, the sooner the better. With Battlefield 3 we have a superior games engine and a top notch product. We are convinced that we will, in fact, have a better product than our key competitor in the space. We think this is the perfect year to gain back market share.”

I highly believe this year is the year of Battlefield. Battlefield WILL beat Call of Duty's ass!!! Im so excited for this game and what doors it will open. Tell me what you guys think. Have a great day

  1. COD is the non plus ultra.
i'm not a COD player myself but that's just how it is.
the majority of fps-players play COD just search "commentary" on youtube and you'll find tons of COD (or minecraft) videos but only very few to no BF videos.

players got so used to the Call of Duty franchise that it'll be pretty hard for them to make the change.

  2. @Icey To me its like Sonic and Mario. You got that Sonic fans and Mario fans. COD is a cheap game and its run by a money whore company. Activision just showed off a new thing called "Call of Duty Elite" That service will be like $5-$8. Call of Duty has slowly been dying ever since ModernWarfare1

  3. Call of duty, counterstrike, everything else. I'm tired of shooter games. Get me something new and interesting.

  4. Personally can't wait for Battlefield. If nothing else, it will provide competition for CoD and force it to up its game in future.

  5. Agree with IJ, Battlefield's arrival can do nothing but good for fps as a genre.

  6. Good luck with that EA. I really doubt it, plus EA servers generally suck from my experience, unless that's been fixed - gotta start there before they can do anything.

  7. Being that EA sucks from a service standpoint, I don't know that they'll manage to outsell CoD. Guess we'll see.

  12. I am pretty sure that battlefield will end up winning what with COD's plan to have a monthly fee.

  13. I really hope it does, COD has too much of a hold on the market.

  14. We'll have to wait and see how the sales are

  16. Yea, we'll see. It'd be cool if it was true though.

  17. I think BF may be better and I don't like CoD but CoD just has such a grip on the FPS market it will be hard to change it.

  20. Bf3 won't only surpass Call of Duty, it will destroy it! :p

  21. Can't see it. Sure there is more to do in Battlefield. Still though, you do not want your games too complicated. Which is where COD gets it.

  22. couldnt care less about either... modern warfare shooters are getting old, fast!

  23. I have a severely hard time believing this. It's going to take more than this single game to establish the franchise as a legit contender. Yes they had Bad Company, but that was not even close to COD's league. In fact, it was essentially a well done sarcastic parody of the COD series. COD didnt become the top dog just from COD2 and its insanely gorgeous graphics, it took until Modern Warfare to finally become the juggernaut it is today. I just dont see BF3 being that juggernaut yet.

Who knows, i could be wrong though.

  24. thats a bold statement. theyve got some work ahead of them if they want to do that

  25. Don't believe in this. COD is far superior.

  26. now that cod is charging per month it wont be hard...

  27. This is more of a pissing competition then anything else in my opinion.
